These instructions are for watching feature length videos purchased through the Catfish Edge website. If you’ve purchased one of these videos and aren’t sure what to do or are having issues follow these instructions.
Please note: The video is an online streaming video for online viewing.
Catfish Edge Online Video Viewing and Troubleshooting
Please read these instructions completely if you’re having issues with a video you’ve purchased. These instructions will resolve 99% of all problems with video.
Login Username and Password
On completion of your order you’ll receive an email with your username and password by email.
The subject of this email is Welcome To Catfish Edge: Your Account Info
If you already had an account then use your existing login information.
Order Details and Viewing Link
You’ll also receive a receipt by email titled “Thank you for your order”.
This contains your order details and order number in the event you need support and is your payment receipt.
For video purchases there’s a link in this email to watch the online video.
You must be logged in to your account to view the video.
My Account Login
To access your account go to https://www.catfishedge.com/my-account/
You’ll find a login screen here where you’ll enter your username and password.
You can use your email address provided at purchase or username for the login name.
Enter your password in the password field.
If you can’t remember your password click the “Lost Password” link at the bottom.
Once logged in you’ll see your account details including a listing of recent purchases.
If you’re trying to watch a video purchased click the “View” button on the right hand side to view purchase details. You can also find the video watch link in your “Thank You For Your Order Email”.
When the order details open you’ll find the detailed information about your order as well as a link to the video watch page.
Click the link to the video watch page.
When the watch page loads you’ll find the video.
Click the play button to begin playing the video.
To watch the video in full screen mode click the full screen button on the right side next to the Catfish Edge logo.
Q: When I try to go to the video page I see the login screen.
A: You must be logged in to view the video. If you are visiting the video watch page and seeing the My Account Login it means you’re not logged in. Make sure you’ve logged into your account as shown above. If you’re still having issues then this is a problem with the security settings on your browser.
Q: When I got to the video watch page I see a blank screen or the video area is solid back with no controls.
A: This usually means you’re running an out dated web browser. Update your web browser to the most recent version.
Q: When I try to play the video it’s slow or choppy
A: There’s a few issues that may cause this and some tips on resolving them.
- Make sure you’re using a high speed internet connection if possible.
- Try letting the video buffer before you view.
- Close all of your other open browser tabs and software
- Make sure web browser is up to date
- Make sure your browser supports HTML5 (updated versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer will support HTML5)
- If you’re using an older web browser and cannot update for some reason make sure you’re running the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer.
Q: How do I let a video buffer?
A: When the video is playing you’ll see a light grey bar across the bottom. As long as the video play point is within that bar you won’t have any issues. If the video play point meets the end of the grey line where the video is buffering it will get choppy and have issues. This is again either an issue with your internet connection or browser. Just hit pause and let the grey bar advance beyond the play point and then hit play again and you won’t have any issues.
Q: What else can I try?
A: If you’ve done everything listed above and are still having issues then try another web browser. The issue is not with the video player or video it’s a hardware, software or internet speed issue.
